Welcome Friends
April 24′
We are now fast approaching the first show of the season at Jacksons Antique and our first show of the year. We are extremely excited to be back showcasing our collection at The Petworth Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair. Tickets will be in the post by the end of the week and will also include tickets for the NEC in July.
This month we were down in Bristol celebrating my Uncles 50th birthday, a milestone birthday which was also rare occasion in which the whole family gets together, extremely precious moments. We were very fortunate with the weather and managed to get two straight days of glorious sunshine, an unheard of phenomenon at the moment in England! It was a first time for us in Bristol and we managed to fall right on a flea market down one of the main streets which to the delight of my girlfriend Kayleigh I couldn’t pass up. Amongst the old streets, boutique shops, and food markets we found Bristol a great place to go for a weekend, even after battling through the stag and hen do’s. Although, they did provide a great amount of entertainment including the brave chap that decided to go for the bungee jump in the photo, just off centre to the right, I just managed to catch him mid dive.
This month on JacksonsAntique.co.uk we have added some beautiful objects to our collection and have been on the look out for some exceptional pieces for our upcoming shows. As a reminder, for further information on any of the shows we are exhibiting at please click any of the banners in the events category below. This will take you directly to that event page and has all the relevant information required including directions, tickets and parking information. For anything else please do not hesitate to contact us.
My Top Picks for May 2025
This month we are introducing this superb French Mantle Clock attributed to François Linke. The clock is a great example from the second half of the 19th century cast as a cherub riding a chariot being drawn by a writhing dragon. The clock modelled in the rococo style with a fully serviced movement and a fantastic formed ormolu base. The clock has been purchased from a private collection in the south of the country which has not been in the market for well over 20 years.
My second top pick of the month is this rare model Meissen Mandarin Duck modelled by Messer. The true to form figure showcases the attention to detail of the factory with beautiful tail feathers and colours intricately finished and with no damage or restoration. The Mandarin duck signed to the base with the famous cross-swords mark and embossed Messer. The Mandarin duck was originally modelled by Professor Max Esser and considered one of Esser’s greatest sculptures in porcelain, it dates to the late 20th century.
