September 22′

I hope you all have had a fantastic summer and have managed to have some time off, recharge the batteries and spend sometime with family and possibly on your holidays. I have been working to source some excellent objects as we approach fair season and have managed to have the odd day here and there to enjoy some time with my partner Kayleigh as she celebrated her 30th birthday over summer. We took a weekend off and stayed at Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire which I would recommend to everyone it was absolutely superb and a beautiful location, a great place to celebrate such an occasion. The food (and the company) were excellent and I could not speak highly enough about the service we had it was second to none.

We also spent an evening at Belvoir castle for the Fireworks championships which I also could not recommend enough it was a fabulous evening with four exceptional displays over the spell of a few hours, we packed a traditional English picnic, took a few glasses of bubbly and sat in our camping chairs enjoying an evening of music and fireworks in a grand setting overlooking Belvoir castle.

Now onto some business news, I have to firstly apologise for the late newsletter, typically the 1st of the month is newsletter day but due to standing Petersfield Fair it clashed with our newsletter release. Secondly this newsletter is going to be slightly different to the others in the fact that I am going to show some stock highlights and talk about the upcoming fairs I will be standing.

We are well underway at the Petersfield Antique Fair located at Festival Hall, Heath Road, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU31 4EA. With the first day taking place today, I have had a warm welcome by Caroline and her team and could not be happier with how the stand has turned out, the venue is excellent with plenty of accessible parking and it is a beautiful boutique fair with a great selection of objects from provincial furniture to Asian art. Its not to late to visit so please contact us for complimentary tickets as the fair is open over the weekend 2nd-3rd September between 10:30am – 5pm. As I am the ‘new kid on the block’ I have been speaking to all the well accredited dealers and learning as much as I can about the area.

I am delighted to announce I have been invited as a guest to stand the Cotswold Art & Antiques Dealers’ Association (CADA) fair located in the idillic setting of Compton Verny art gallery and park in Warwickshire CV35 9HZ. The fair runs between the 13th and 16th of October and is a fantastic opportunity to showcase my stock at another prestigious event along side a host of excellent dealers in the trade. As this is my first time standing and visiting the fair we are holding some excellent stock to showcase and I invite everyone to visit the fair and have the opportunity to see the grounds around Compton Verny. For tickets and further information please do contact us.

The third fair across the autumn/winter season is  Chelsea Antiques & Fine Art Fair held between the 2nd and 6th of November at Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Road, Kensington and Chelsea, London, SW3 5EE. As this will be my second time standing I am looking forward to meeting previous clients from the fair and introducing myself to new clients in the grand surroundings of the Old Town Hall under its ownership 2Covet and being the their third time hosting the event.

Our final fair for the season will be at the NEC in Birmingham at the Art & Antiques For Everyone exhibition. This is another fair I have stood a couple of times now and will be looking forward to closing out the season with a bang. The fair is running from the 24th to the 27th of November, further details to follow!

For more information regarding any of the fairs including complimentary tickets please go to jacksonsantique.co.uk or contact us directly.

We would love to feature your purchases from Jacksons Antique on our instagram page. Please send us a picture to see your items featured on our wall over @JacksonsAntique

When you pay a lot for an “antique” chair and then found out that its just a cheap modern chair that the seller roughed up,

that’s distressing.
