Elkington and Co.

Elkington and Company (C.1830s-1963)

Elkington and Co. was established in the 1830s by George Richards Elkington and his cousin, Henry Elkington. Initially operating under the name G. R. Elkington & Co., the company changed to Elkington, Mason, & Co. in 1842 when Josiah Mason became a partner. This partnership lasted until 1861, after which the firm reverted to the name Elkington & Co. and continued operating independently for more than a century. In 1963, the company was acquired by British Silverware Ltd., and in 1971, it became a subsidiary of Delta Metal Co. Ltd.
