Gyokuzan

Gyokuzan (1835-1906)

Gyokuzan (Chin Jukan XII 1835-1906) was the founding father of the satsuma industry in Kagoshima, Satsuma province. He exhibited at many international exhibitions during the years 1873-1906. The factory produced blanks for Satsuma decorators across Japan including most notably Yabu Meizan and Gyokushu. Chin also used the name Gyokuzan between 1874-1897.
