
Shobido Jewelry Co. (1900-present)
The Shobido Jewelry Co. was founded in 1900 by Eikichiro Eto. The company was located in Yodoyabashi, central to Osaka City. Eto was a talented craftsman who worked with clocks, watches, Jewellery, arts and crafts, silverware and precious metals. Junzo Eto (b.1900) took over the business as president in 1946 after World War II, and in doing so, he established the Osaka Watch, Jewellery and Optical Co-operate Union. The Shobido company still produces a range of wares today, which are visible directly on the company’s website shobido.jp.
