Austrian cold painted bronze ewer circa 1890. Of naturalistic form with globular bod and flared opening. Decorated with in the classical style with a mythical merman formed handle, high relief merboys swimming through the water and a large fish woven through the waves. To the lip a terminal mythological figure probably a fuan with pointed ears and flower encrusted crown. The vase decorated extensively and finished in gold patination with the figures accented in a dark brown patination. Probably of Vienna – Austria origin.
Measurements: 21cm High x 15cm Deep x 14cm Wide
Condition: Very good, minor surface wear.
