Description
Fine Austrian 18ct gold mounted box. The box beautifully crafted in oblong form with 18ct gold mounts around a tortoiseshell body with a central scene featuring a view looking out from the Doges Palace. To the side of the box hall marks providing the makers marks B&S and the Austrian country mark.
Notes | Commonly the Doges palace is viewed from the outside in many renowned paintings. The world famous arches are seen from looking at the palace. Rarely has the scene been taken from the inside of the palace gates looking onto the lagoon across Venice, Italy.
