Late 19th century Black Forest adjustable piano stool modelled as a seated bear grasping a tree stump. The realistically carved bear with its mouth open revealing its piercing teeth, one paw bracing its posture and the other wrapped around the thick stump making up the seat column. The naturalistic circular seat spins on a heavily machined spiral shaft allowing adjustment to the height.
Lot Notes: Drilled outline holes in the rear of the bear are used to allow movement in the wood to prevent cracking and damages due to the size. This is original.
Condition: Very Good, scratching and chips, mouth repainted otherwise age related wear.
Measurements: 48cm Height x 39.5cm Width x 37cm Depth (69cm With the seat at its highest).
