Extremely rare late 19th century carved Black Forest tobacco Jar. The tobacco jar modelled as a standing hare full of expression. The hand carved hare seated on its haunches with its paws at rest, ears at attention and glass eyes watching carefully. Hinged at the neck and manually pushed back to reveal a hollowed out inner for storing tobacco. The jar is untouched and excellent in colour and patina.
