    Description

    Chinese double gourd blue and white porcelain vase. The vase of beautiful form decorated throughout with a blue and white palette around a double gourd shape with two scenes depicting the He-He Er Xian (Immortals of Harmony and Union/Two gods of Harmony and Union). Around the scenes flowing cherry blossom finishes the vase with birds amongst the branches.

    Notes | The He-He Er Xian (two immortals) literally translates to union, the two holy ones. They represent harmony and union and are often painted as a blessing. The two figures actually represent two famous poet-monks of the Tang Dynasty, Hanshan and Shide and often the twins are used to bless marriages and grand openings of shops.
