The Silver Basket dates to the late Qing period and the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1910.
Wang Hing was established in 1854 in Canton by the Lo Family who were wealthy Chinese merchants. The name Wang Hing is actually a chosen trading name rather than a person. The company enjoyed great success providing high quality silver objects mainly for export to the western world. In the early 1940’s during the invasion by the Japanese the company closed after the Lo family fled to the mainland. In today’s market Wang Hing is the most celebrated Chinese Silver company and the most sought after for collectors.
