Description
Japanese Meiji period lacquered tea caddy. The box of rectangular form decorated to the outside with five gilt fans depicting various scenes with floral notes. When opened, the box reveals a beautiful blossoming pomegranate fruit decoration spanning across the top of the two tea canisters. Each tea caddy with half of the scene with a base black lacquer covering the rest of the boxes. The inside of the lid featuring a beetle, spider and wasp. Each box with a soft metal lining. The box comes without a key. Dating to the Meiji period 1868-1912 circa 1900.

Condition | Good, Some small chipping / minor damages to the lacquer. No restoration.
