Description
Very unusual pair of Japanese shakudo bronze stands. The stands fully patinated shakudo are cast with a floral band around the perimeter of the top stood upon five cabriolet legs. The stands inlaid with beautiful bronze floral scrollwork with central blossoming flowers. Dating to the middle of the Meiji period (1868-1912) circa 1890.
Notes | Shakudo 赤銅 is a billion of gold and copper which can be patinated or left in its original state which resembles bronze.
