Description
Japanese Meiji period silver box with shibuichi plaque. The box of rectangular form with a silver polished case stamped Jungin to the base and mounted around a hardwood liner. To the top of the box a shibuichi plaque worked from copper features engraved decoration in katakiribori (engraving with an angled chisel emulating brushstrokes) and gold and silver inlay with a large repousse sack full of objects including as daikoku’s mallet.
