Description
Fine Japanese Meiji period damascene box in the shape of an open fan. The box of exceptional quality decorated throughout with mixed metals encased within the open fan design. The top scene showing a vast landscape with mount fuji to the center with two further buildings in the foreground amongst trees. A silver wire boarder surrounds the scene with a floral pattern. To each side further flowers decorated the box. The underside signed 京都住 Kyoto jū (residing in Kyoto) 村上製 (Murakami-sei).
